Meet Clyde Jones

Your Congressional Candidate for AL-01

Rev. Clyde W. Jones, Jr. is a decorated combat veteran, faith leader, and community advocate whose life reflects his commitment to service — to his country, his church, and his community.

A native of Charles City, VA, Rev. Jones served 21 years in the United States Army, retiring as a First Sergeant in the Signal Corps. A veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom II, he is a proud recipient of the Bronze Star Medal — an honor reflecting courage, leadership, and excellence under pressure.

After his military career, Clyde continued his legacy of leadership in the private sector, relocating to South Alabama in 2013 to work with DuPont. He retired from FMC Corporation (FMC Agriculture Solutions) in May 2024, where he served as a Process Safety Management Coordinator — bringing discipline, integrity, and accountability to every role he’s held.

His commitment to service extends beyond his profession. Rev. Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts with a focus in Administration and Management from Excelsior University, equipping him with the tools to lead effectively in both civic, and faith-based spaces.

Today, he serves as an Associate Minister at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith fuels his dedication to justice and community empowerment.

He is Former President of the Board of Directors for Alabama Arise, Chairman of the Education, Political, and Veterans Affairs Committee for the Baldwin County NAACP, President of the Board for Supporting Educational Excellence in Daphne Schools (SEEDS), and a member of the Executive Committee for the Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation of the Episcopal Diocese of the Gulf Coast.

He is married to the former Nichelle Barnes of Wichita Falls, Texas. Together they are the proud parents of three children — Shunika, Micah, and Timothy — and grandparents to six grandchildren, grounding his public leadership in a deep commitment to family.
